Enrolment Procedures

Alfred Nuttall Memorial Kinder (ANMK) is part of the City of Darebin’s central enrolment scheme. Enrolments are completed online via the Darebin Kindergarten Registration System Portal. For 2025 enrolments, registrations open on Friday 1 March 2024.

City of Darebin will send you an email confirming your online application for enrolment as soon as you submit.  You will be contacted about places at a later date.

If you receive an offer of a place at ANMK, the first step it to confirm you accept the place with Council. We will then email you your enrolment and information pack.

Enrolment Eligibility

For your child to be eligible for three-year-old kindergarten, they must turn three by 30 April.  Children must be three-years-old before they can attend kindergarten. If your child turns three in January, February, March or April, we strongly recommend you contact us to discuss options.

For your child to be eligible to attend four-year-old kindergarten, they must turn four by 30 April.

The State Government subsidises one year of three-year-old kindergarten and one four-year-old kindergarten for every child. Approval for a third year is only granted in special cases, and can only be applied to the four-year-old kindergarten year. As such, it is important to fully consider your child’s readiness. Our kindergarten teachers are happy to discuss your child’s education and to help you make an informed decision. 

Immunisation requirements – No Jab No Play

All parents/guardians seeking to enrol their child at an early childhood service in Victoria, including kindergarten, must provide evidence that their child is:

  • fully immunised for their age OR

  • on a vaccination catch-up program OR

  • unable to be fully immunised for medical reasons.

Fees

ANMK offers free kinder as per the Victorian Government Kindergarten Expansion Announcement.

This means there will be no fees payable for the 15 hours per week of three-year-old and four-year-old kindergarten.

Kindergarten fee deposit

A $100 refundable enrolment deposit will be required to confirm acceptance of a place at ANMK. This enrolment deposit is only refundable upon commencement with ANMK, as per our Fees Policy.
