Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP)

We are proud to share our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), in our enduring commitment to reconciliation. A formal launch took place at one of our Bush Kinder sites in the Darebin Parklands, coinciding with our annual Welcome Picnic on Sunday 16 February 2025, where we hosted the Djirri Djirri Wurundjeri women’s dance group.

ANMK Reconciliation Action Plan

Indigenous Perspectives

At ANMK, we are committed to celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and history, harnessing children's innate joyfulness to promote reconciliation, which is woven through our kinder days. By incorporating First Nations perspectives into our programs, the children can learn about and reflect on our shared histories, fostering a community of togetherness.

Currently, it is Waring Season on the Wurundjeri calendar. The Wurundjeri seasonal calendar is made up of seven seasons. Waring, also known as Wombat Season, is the period from April to July in the Kulin Nation's Indigenous seasonal calendar. This time is characterised by cool, rainy weather, misty mornings, and short days with long nights. Wombats are also more active during this period, emerging from their burrows.

ANMK families can learn more about the Wurundjeri seasons at Inspiring Victoria and Museums Victoria.
